The Roxbury Free Library seeks qualified and dynamic candidates to fill a vacant Assistant Library Director position.  The position is available beginning November 1st 2019.

Position Title – Assistant Library Director

Position Statement – Responsible for managing operations of the library

Responsible to – Library Director

Responsible for – Volunteer staff

Hours of work – 8 hours per week for 52 weeks

Responsibilities – The Assistant Director Position duties include, but are not limited to, managing the library collection, assisting patrons at the circulation desk, facilitating library events, and helping with library maintenance.

Requirements – Minimum requirements for the position include a high school education and ideally experience working in library service settings.  Starting pay will be commensurate with experience.

The Roxbury Free Library seeks a qualified candidate for the Library Substitute Position.

Qualifications: At least 18 years of age. High school degree required. Basic computer skills. Excellent customer service skills.

The Library Substitute will be responsible for providing basic library service without assistance from other library staff after adequate training. Job duties include completing basic circulation tasks, providing patrons with support and guidance with computer resources, offering reader advisory, providing basic help with reference questions, a willingness and ability to promote RFL services, and giving attention to the library’s physical needs while on shift . The substitute needs to be able to implement RFL policy and procedure in the absence of other library staff – especially the patron confidentiality policies. The substitute is expected to provide a welcoming environment through their interactions with patrons either in person or digitally.

Position description:

· 3 hours per month with more hours possible.

· Minimum wage starting pay

· Annual contract
